Geeta’s story

Hailing from the historic town of Gulbarga, Geeta’s journey is one of art, culture, and a deep-rooted passion for Indian craftsmanship. A graduate in visual arts from CAVA Mysore, she pursued her love for textiles through a Master’s in Textile Design at the prestigious National Institute of Design (NID), 2008.

With over a decade of experience in the industry, Geeta has made significant contributions to reviving and reimagining traditional crafts and textiles. Her work spans collaborations with renowned organizations like WomenWeave, Desi Trust, Kosala garnering recognition in prominent publications such as The Hindu and Vogue, where Sally Holkar described her as “the future of craft.” Notably, during her time with Sadhna, she presented her collection at Lakmé Fashion Week in 2020 as a part of the sustainable Fashion day.

Honored with accolades like the Veera Mahila Award by Sharnbasva University, Geeta’s efforts celebrate not only her artistic journey but also her commitment to empowering artisans and preserving cultural heritage. Her story is a testament to how passion and purpose can breathe new life into age-old traditions.
